COLCOA Television: The Grand Final!
While the program continues in the MELVILLE theater, Television programs will occupy the TRUFFAUT theater starting at 2:00 pm with the North American Premiere of Gerard Mordillat’s TV Movie Trough the Mill, followed by two complete mini-series (3 episodes): the comedy I Love you 2 at 4:15 pm and an anticipated series to close the competition at 7:30 pm: Proud, shown at COLCOA just before its broadcast in France.
COLCOA Cinema: Two exclusive comedies shown before a powerful drama to close the competition…
The Cinema competition will continue in the RENOIR Theater on Monday afternoon with two comedies shown at COLCOA just a few days after their French release:
Let The Girls Play (w/d by Julien Hallard) and The Other Woman (w/d by Daniel Auteuil),
The competition will close at 8:15 pm with the North American Premiere of the new drama from writer/director Cédric Kahn: The Prayer (La Prière) [with link to the film page], just a few weeks after its World Premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival.
Newcomer Anthony Bajon just won the Best Actor Award at the 2018 Berlin Film Festival for his riveting portrayal of Thomas, a 22-year-old heroin addict who turns up at a monastic rehab center in the French Alps. Sporting a black eye and looking like a wounded animal, Thomas is, at first, reluctant to submit himself to the center’s austere life of discipline, abstinence, physical labor and endless prayer. But his discovery of a first love and a blossoming faith in God will lead him to a new kind of torment. Cédric Kahn’s poignant, unsentimental tale, told with a crisp purity of style, chronicles Thomas’ difficult road to recovery in painstaking detail… and is blessed with a glorious cameo by the magnificent Hanna Schygulla.
Screening will be followed by a discussion with actor Antony Bajon
Drawing for the WIN A TRIP TO PARIS contest will take place on stage before the screening. Bring your ticket(s)!
