HIGH SCHOOL SCREENINGS PROGRAM

In 2015, COLCOA  welcomed its 15,000th student !

For the 8th year, COLCOA High School screenings took place from Tuesday April 21 to Friday April 24, 2015 at 10:00 am, at the Directors Guild of America theater complex, during the 19th COLCOA FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL, “9 days of  French Film Premieres in Hollywood”.

The featured film, selected and presented in French with English subtitles, was ONCE IN A LIFE TIME, a drama co-written by Ahmed Drame and Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar, and directed by Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar.  This Premiere screening was appropriate for American audience, ages 15 and older and was very well received by the students. The film also won the COLCOA Audience Special Prize and the COLCOA Critics Special Prize.  We will let you know if the film is released in the US.

A pedagogical document about the film was produced by AATF and offered to teachers participating in the program. A link to the document will be soon available on this page. Here is a link to access to pedagogical documents produced by AATF for two films recently shown to highschool students at COLCOA: JAPPELOUP in 2013 and TURNING TIDE (En Solitaire) in 2014.

If you are a teacher and want to participate to the 2016 High School screenings program, information for registration will be added on this page in summer.

The program is produced by COLCOA in association with ELMA (European Languages and Movies in America), with the support of the American Association of Teachers of French-Southern California (AATF-SC).
