2014 COLCOA SHORT FILM COMPETITION
20 new French short films will compete for the 2014 COLCOA Awards. This new exclusive selection and competition of French shorts is unique to a film festival in the United States, underlying the creativity of French production and putting new talent in the spotlight.
Each short film will be shown before a feature film presentation during the week (April 21-27). The competition of shorts will take place at the Directors Guild of America on Sunday, April 27, with the rerun of all films selected. Free admission on a First Come First Served basis. Attendance will be invited to vote for the COLCOA Short Film Audience Award. Schedule will be announced on this page on April 2nd, 2014.
In 2013, the COLCOA Short Film Award went to The Lizards by Vincent Mariette. The short drama by Xavier Legrand, Avant que de tout Perdre (Just Before Losing Everything), won the Special Jury Award and was subsequently nominated for an Academy Award in 2014.
