COLCOA COVID-19 POLICY
We are delighted to be back and welcome you in-person at the DGA for our 25th anniversary. Your safety is our priority. In order to create the safest experience for everyone working or attending the festival, all attendees must accept and respect the following rules:
1 – Only fully vaccinated guests will be allowed to attend the event. (Fully vaccinated means at least 2 doses for Pfizer, Moderna & AstraZeneca, one dose for J&J). Proof of COVID vaccination (CDC Card or QR code) + ID will be required before you enter the DGA. Please bring proof of vaccination every day you are attending the festival. Children under 12 won’t be allowed to attend the festival this year. If you are +12 and can’t be vaccinated for medical reasons, please bring a medical certificate as well as a negative 48h PCR test.
2 – Attendees who are feeling sick or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms (such as cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fever, chills, or any other symptoms), or who have had contact with anyone confirmed or suspected of having COVID-19, should stay home, regardless of vaccination status. Please note that attendees displaying COVID-19 symptoms will not be allowed to enter the DGA. Visitors can rebook their visit for another day or receive a refund.
(After the check, you will wear a day-specific wristband. It will allow you to enter the DGA, circulate in the building and re-enter the same day without another check of your vaccination status. If you plan to attend the festival for several days, you must do the vaccination check once every day)
3- In alignment with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health policy, face masks are required for all visitors, regardless of vaccination status. Masks must be worn at all times in the DGA’s public spaces including theaters, lobby, and restrooms. Masks must cover the nose and mouth completely, and must not have any exhalation valves, vents, or holes of any kind. Wearing a mask is mandatory at the festival everywhere and all the time, including during screenings. If you are a guest of a reception or a cocktail, a mask will still be mandatory when not eating or drinking.
4- We encourage you to use our sanitizer stations regularly and respect social distancing.
5- Socially distanced seating: LA County is currently allowing 100% capacity indoors. Our venues and the festival will continue to monitor capacity as dictated by LA County. The occupancy policy in theatres will be 100%, but when a screening is not full, we ask you to try to keep seats empty between you and others.
6. Tickets at COLCOA 2021 have gone paperless! Tickets can still be purchased on-site at the Box Office in addition to online. You will be sent a digital QR code for entry instead of a physical ticket. Payment via debit or credit card or smartphone will only be available to purchase food, beverage, tickets and merchandise on site. Food and beverage areas (outdoors) will be clearly marked and staff will be trained to direct individuals to appropriate areas. Cash will be accepted only for payment of parking ticket discount
8. Risk: An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COLCOA follows all applicable public health orders and guidance, but by attending, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
9. We encourage you to arrive in advance as you should be prepared for delays due to mandatory temperature checks, vaccination card verifications,
In addition to these rules, the DGA Theater Complex and the lobby have been equipped with a new state of the art HVAC system that is equipped with MERV 13 air filters. This new system maximizes in-take of fresh outdoor air and remains completely separate from the building’s tower HVAC system. Common areas and high touch points will be routinely cleaned, sanitized, and disinfected at least twice daily. The DGA will be sprayed with an industrial (non-harmful) aerosol disinfectant cleanser throughout the entire venue once every weekday, and twice on weekends. All COLCOA staff and volunteers as well as talent in attendance are fully vaccinated and will be tested.
All attendees are required to follow COLCOA’s rules. Abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or threatening statements or behavior toward COLCOA staff and volunteers will not be tolerated. COLCOA reserves the right to require attendees whose conduct violates these policies to leave the DGA.
These rules may be updated before the end of the festival according to possible LA County changes.
These rules are in place in order for our audience to enjoy the movies and the festival experience in the safest environment possible. We thank you for your cooperation.
