HIGH SCHOOL SCREENINGS PROGRAM 

 

In 2016, COLCOA FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL will welcome its 17,000th student. 3,000 seats will be offered to students and teachers who want to attend the high school screenings, now a 5-day program.


 

For the 9th year, COLCOA high school screenings will take place on Tuesday April 19, Wednesday April 20, Thursday April 21, Friday April 22 and Monday April 25 at 10:00 am at the Directors Guild of America theater complex, during the 19th COLCOA French Film Festival, “9 Days of Premieres in Hollywood”.

 

The featured film will be selected no later than March 2016 and presented in French with English subtitles. This Premiere screening will be appropriate for American audience, ages 15 and older.  

 

A pedagogical document about the film may be produced by AATF and offered to teachers participating in the program (to be confirmed at a later date.)

 

For the time a film critic contest will be introduced and organized by AATF.

 

ADMISSION TO SCREENING IS FREE and open to all high school teachers and their students in Southern California. 

 

RESERVATION IS REQUIRED. Please reserve now at school@colcoa.org. Mention the day you wish to attend, the name of the school and how many students plan to attend with you. 

 

Teachers wishing to bring their students to a film more suitable to advanced high school film student, will have the opportunity to register to one of our two master classes open to students aged 17 and over only. These master classes will take place on Tuesday April 19 and Thursday April 21 at 1:00 pm at the Directors Guild of America. (Films selected for the Master Class Program and potential speakers will be announced at the very beginning of April. Each school will be responsible for transportation of its students and insurance issues pertaining to this off-campus field trip.

 

Teachers participating in the COLCOA High School Program will receive an invitation for two to attend all screenings of the COLCOA Festival from April 19 to April 26 at the Directors Guild of America (on a RSVP basis. RSVP will open on this site on March 30th, 2016).

 

COLCOA offers special discount for any student for all screenings of the festival (except free screenings). Tickets will be available on this site on March 30th, 2016. ($4 per screening instead of $12)
