2015 COLCOA SHORT FILM COMPETITION
20 new French short films will compete for the 2015 COLCOA Awards. This new exclusive selection of French shorts is unique to a film festival in the United States, underlying the creativity of French production and putting new talent in the spotlight.
Each short film will be shown before a feature film presentation during the COLCOA week (April 20-27). The competition of shorts will take place at the Directors Guild of America on Sunday, April 26, with the rerun of all films selected. (Free admission on a First Come First Served basis.) Attendance will vote for the COLCOA Audience Short Film Award while a professional jury will decide for the COLCOA Short Film Award. (see the program and schedule below)
For the first time, in May, a part of the COLCOA Short Film Program will be broadcasted on TV5 Monde Cinema On Demand, a SVOD service available in select markets in the United States.
In 2014, the COLCOA Short Film Award went to The Run Away written and directed by Jean-Bernard Marlin. The short drama by Wei Hu, The Butter Lamp premiered at COLCOA and was nominated for an Academy Award in 2015 (Best Short Film - Live Action).
