From Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein, the creative duo behind The Bridge (and its adaptation, The Tunnel) and co-directors of Underworld: The Awakening comes this new Nordic Noir, the first ever television co-production between Sweden and France. Set in the struggling mining hamlet of Kiruna, Sweden’s northernmost town, the 8-part series begins with an elaborate and brutal killing of a French citizen. To investigate the mysterious crime French detective Kahina Zadi (Leïla Bekhti, A Prophet) teams up with local Swedish prosecutor, Anders Harnesk (Gustaf Hammarsten, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). As the body count rises, Zadi and Harnesk realize that the killings mirror a ritual of the indigenous Sami (Laplander) people. In the eternal twilight of the Arctic Circle, the two investigators are drawn into Sami culture and beliefs, one of which warns that a storm is coming that will destroy everything.
