After last year’s West coast premiere of Call My Agent at COLCOA, fans of the comedy series were able to enjoy the complete first season on Netflix. The show’s phenomenal success around the world has led to its nomination for an International Emmy Award. Now COLCOA gives you the chance to get the jump on season 2. Camille, Mathias, Gabriel, Andrea, and Arlette are back with 6 more installments of mishaps, misunderstandings, and misadventures at the ASK talent agency. And once again they will stop at nothing to make certain their clients’ interests are served. Originally developed by Fanny Herrero, and based on the real life experience of former big-league agent Dominique Besnehard, the show takes a shameless peek at the grime behind the glamour of the stardom business. This season’s crop of celebrity actors willing to poke fun at themselves includes Isabelle Adjani, Juliette Binoche, Fabrice Luchini, and Christophe Lambert.
Showrunner Fanny Herrero began her career writing for television in a wide range of genres, from crime action Les bleus: premiers pas dans la police (2006-) to period drama Un village français (2009-). For season 2 of Call My Agent she brought some new writing talent aboard, including her fellow Kabul Kitchen (2012-) staff writer Benjamin Dupas (co-writer of the feature Ares, also screening this year at COLCOA), The Innocents (COLCOA 2016) co-writer Sabrina B. Karine, and Welcome to Argentina (COLCOA 2013) co-writer Anaïs Carpita. Herrero also opted for fresh eyes behind the lens with Astérix and Obélix: God Save Britannia (2012) director Laurent Tirard. Known for his successful film adaptations of the Le Petite Nicolas children’s books, Tirard most recently co-wrote and directed the hit romantic comedy Up for Love (Closing film COLCOA 2016), starring a diminutive Jean Dujardin.
