Fifteen-year-old Chloé walks through the doors of a new school and steps into uncharted territory, in this story of sexual awakening in the 21st century. She quickly makes friends with class hottie, Luna, and falls hard for her new best friend’s hunky ex-boyfriend, Félix. But those monumental turning points in life, like first love and sexual initiation, are not as simple as they used to be. And Chloé’s world is scattered with the landmines of competitive social networking, online teen exhibitionism and a surfeit of pornography — a landscape she tiptoes through with her heart in her boots but her eyes wide open.
Director Renaud Bertrand began his career as a first assistant director on TV movies and feature films. He moved into the director’s chair on the series, Eve Castelas, for France 3 in 1999. That was followed by two TV movies, Vent de poussières (2001) and La Nourrice (2004), starring Marthe Keller. Since then he has directed ten more TV movies, numerous series and two theatrical features — Les Irréductibles (2006), starring Jacques Gamblin and Kad Merad, and Just the Three of Us (2010), starring Emmanuelle Béart and Jacques Gamblin. Hungry for Love is being presented at COLCOA prior to its international broadcast premiere in France.
